I’m new sub because I like your outdoor pics and the Hiatus. Would you buy it again if choosing? (Discount the fact that Ridgeline has limited options). I’m in a Chevy 1500 with more options but I believe the Hiatus is a top tier camper.

@Ianpixs Great video. Can you tell me about the roof exterior? Is it a solid material? I know Erin and Tyler can install Yakima roof racks and I like the idea but really curious of the top shell durability.

That's a pretty big heater for such a small space. They look really nice. A little heavier than what I want.

Do you still have this camper? how is the wear and tear after owning it for some time?

Do you need to upgrade any suspension on your Ridgeline for the Hiatus camper? My wife and I are looking into Hiatus camper also but have not decided on any truck platform yet.

Great setup! I love my Ridgeline but it's a first gen so it's got that slanted bed rail. Needless to say camper shells are not easy to find.

Hi Lee. From DC, own a hiatus as well. It’s not your fault as an east coaster but you missed the full cost savings of your rig. 1. No need to pay for campsites anymore! BLM, National forests, rest stops. For example: goblin valley. You could have driven past little wild horse canyon and found a life changing place to sleep. I think you should come back out here and let me guide you on a trip that you’ll think about on your death bed and smile!

Thanks for posting these thoughtful videos. Just watched the one on the North Yellowstone Loop. Both of these help inspire me to figure out my camping system so I'm outdoors more. I'm shocked by the negative comments. Why does someone even watch a video when they know they don't like Hondas? I've gleamed a few ideas to use. Most importantly that I haven't been to Yellowstone for too long and I will camp and hike when I'm there rather than "just drive thru." Keep posting more videos of your adventures!

With all that metal - like with the piano hinges - do you have condensation, wall sweating issues?

I believe a significant factor in calculating the max weight ratings are the tires. The stock tires are more suited for a mini van or sport ute, not a "pck up". If you were to upgrade to an 8 ply BFG's for example, the ride will be a little rougher but it will increase your weight rating. Please let me know if this is an incorrect assumption.

I'm interested in Hiatus campers and think it's esp. cool that they'll work with the Ridgeline (which is a mid-size truck I like but doesn't seem to be popular with too many camper shell mfgs.) Have you had any leaking issues with the hinges/joints on the folding top ?

Your videos are so complete with the details. I recently got a Ridgeline with the hopes of putting a camper on it for various hikes. Slideouts seem too much of a hassle and weight too. Making a trip to get Hiatus installed would in itself be a trip, I'm from the DMV area too :). I'm planning to start my design. Would to know what worked best and what didn't since you'd had it for a while. Also what other additions have you made since.

Hows it hold up to rain and wind?...the rain loud? can it blow the walls inward?..looks like that inner latch is only thing keeping walls from blowing inward....maybe have an inner cross bar from side to side to prevent that from hapening. looks cool though.

Great price. The amount of research and development that it takes justifies. This is by far the best pop- up on the market. Hat's off from Canada.

Hi folks. Maybe want to polish the top of camper w a silicone based polish in say September. Keep ice sliding off. OR could use silicone spray monthly in winter on sunny days.//Suggest put down plastic sheet when spray the top keep driveway friction. NOTE keep silicone spray inside at room temp to get good spray pattern before use outdoors. The propellant for silicone spray cools off even in garage at 45F in winter. //I spray my snow blower flights and chutes w silicone spray so snow doesn't pack in.

I had a GFC and sold it. Some of my biggest disappointments with the camper was dealing with condensation issues and lack of insulation for winter camping. Also, the latches were awful in cold/ice and the top literally tried to crush me in the middle of the night during a snowstorm (the struts could not handle the weight of the snow). So, I love your set-up a lot more than I loved my GFC.

Can you tell me the weight of the hiatus? I’d like to know what the weight is for limit for pay load on a future truck? I don’t want anything heavy to weigh a truck down & break the suspension!
